Support for Homeowners, Neighborhoods, and Safer Living

Genesis Housing Corporation offers a range of programs to support individuals, families, and neighborhoods through education, financial assistance, and essential home repairs. From first-time homebuyer counseling to lead paint abatement and neighborhood revitalization, each initiative is designed to create stronger, safer communities.

Housing Counseling Program

This program provides free classes and individual counseling helping potential first-time home buyers and homeowners. Monthly classes focus on topics not taught in regular school including understanding credit, credit scores, money management, saving plans, grant programs and understanding the home buying process including selecting a realtor and finding the best mortgage.

Pottstown Neighborhood Programs

This is an ongoing program to revitalize Pottstown that is funded through the PA Neighborhood Tax Credit Program. This year’s projects focus on facade improvements for residential and businesses properties, housing rehab, neighborhood improvements and housing counseling classes. This program supports community events like National Night Out, Play Streets and Pottstown Community Action (PCA) community clean-ups. The Program is funded by a grant from KeyBank.

Montgomery County Lead Paint Abatement and Healthy Homes Program

This program works with Montgomery County to provide lead paint abatement grants for homes with elevated lead paint levels and/or for homes with a child with elevated lead paint levels.

Montgomery Whole Home Repairs Program

This program works with Montgomery County to help eligible homeowners with critical system repairs to provide safe and decent housing for lower income households. Renovation projects are underway. No new applications are being accepted at this time.

Single System Homeowner Rehab Program

This program is only for Pottstown homeowners and provides grants for single system repairs to income eligible homeowners. The 2025 funding is supported by the PA Neighborhood Tax Credit Program with donations from Truist and Peoples Security Bank and Trust. Previous years had funding for homes throughout Montgomery County. The single systems include roofs, heaters and plumbing.
