Looking Back At Our Projects

Genesis Housing has rehabbed or built over 850 affordable housing units including long term vacant properties and owner-occupied homes in partnership with local communities, federal, state and county government agencies and affordable housing developers. These project has helped families become homeowners, provided homeowner rehab grants and loans, renovated long-term vacant properties, provided affordable apartments and supported neighborhood revitalization projects.

Rehabilitation

Genesis Housing Corporation has completed vacant property renovations in Norristown, Ambler and Pottstown. Genesis Housing has administered homeowner rehab programs throughout Montgomery County including the Montgomery County Homeowner Rehab Program, Whole Home Repairs program, Healthy Homes Program and Lead Paint Abatement Program. Genesis Housing has also partnered for LIHTC projects to renovate blighted properties for affordable apartments in Pottstown (Beech St Factory Apartments) and East Greenville (Willows at East Greenville Apartments).

New Construction

Genesis Housing Corporation has completed new construction affordable rental development projects including Reliance Crossing, in Souderton, PA and the Willows of Valley Run in Caln Township. There have also been new home buyer projects including May Street Crossing, Warren Homes and Walnut Street Homes in Pottstown, PA.

Consulting

Genesis Housing Corporation provides consulting services to other non-profit agencies to assist with affordable housing working with Lower Merion Affordable Housing, St Luke’s Knoll, Habitat for Humanity, Ardmore House, Mosaic Community Land Trust and similar organizations to support their missions.

Completed Development Projects

Some of our completed development projects include:

Willows at Valley Run - Genesis Housing has partnered with for-profit developer, Ingerman, to build an affordable multi-family rental project development in Caln Township, Chester County. The Willows of Valley Run Phase 2 created 60 affordable apartments. The Phase 1 project on the adjacent lot also has 60 apartments.
Willows of East Greenville - Genesis Housing partnered with Ingerman to redevelop historic buildings in East Greenville, Montgomery County into a 71-unit mixed-income rental development providing safe, accessible affordable housing. Genesis Housing and Ingerman won a 2022 Montgomery County award for the development from the Montgomery County Planning Commission for one of the best local projects.
Arbor Knoll - Genesis Housing worked on this Norristown redevelopment project with for–profit developer, Progressive Housing Ventures, to demolish a long-term blighted property and build 34 units of affordably priced homes for homeownership on the site.
Reliance Crossing - Genesis Housing partnered with Ingerman to build an affordable multi-family rental project development of 56 apartments located in Souderton Borough, Montgomery County. Genesis Housing and Ingerman won a 2016 Montgomery County award for the Reliance Crossing development from the Montgomery County Planning Commission for one of the best local projects.
Beech Street Factory - Genesis Housing partnered with Housing Visions to redevelop a property in Pottstown, Montgomery County into a mixed-use complex featuring 43 affordable apartments and the home of ArtFusion 19464 transforming the space to bring new life, vibrancy and affordable residential opportunities to a long term vacant and blighted property.
